Semir Nalic

With a degree in human kinetics as well as years of personal training experience, Semir took a passion project in his garage and turned it into the fitness studio we know today as The Proving Grounds. With a genuine care for his clients, he does his utmost to ensure that nobody leaves his facility feeling as if they’re just another number, but rather, a part of the T.P.G. family.

Although he is a firm believer in the principles of exercising consistently and maintaining a well-balanced diet, Semir holds one’s mentality above all else when considering what it takes to reach one’s fitness goals. Due to this, the meaning behind the name The Proving Grounds is that this gym is a place where all are welcome to show up and put in dedicated efforts, and by doing so, will be rewarded with the results that they are striving for because they proved to themselves and to their bodies how badly they truly want their goals to come to fruition.

Genna Branchaud

Genna is a biology student and Certified Personal Trainer specializing in general strength training, conditioning and functional movements. She has over 5 years of experience in strength training and comes from a competitive athletic background in gymnastics and other sports.

She believes that building the athlete in each person through strength training, mobility movement patterns and proper nutrition is what’s key to living a healthy and fulfilling life. She educates and empowers her clients by giving them the tools and guidance necessary to push them toward their goals.

Genna strives to create a training space that feels safe and motivating for each individual that steps into TPG. She only hopes to improve and maximize what each person is truly capable of both mentally and physically.

Alen Halilovic

After his experience playing soccer in Turkey, Alen pivoted to coaching as a result of an injury that he sustained. While Currently pursuing a degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, He has also earned his certification as a sports performance coach in Europe.

With valuable experience as a Strength & Conditioning coach Alen excels at developing customized training programs that prioritize both injury prevention and peak performance. He incorporates engaging boxing-style circuits to add variety and intensity to his sessions, ensuring that training remains fun and dynamic. Alen’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the sports performance world drives him to empower every Client he trains, ultimately helping them reach new heights in their fitness journey.
